Primary Function

To manage the sales and profitability of the assigned accounts and have responsibility for delivering the sales budget. Identify, prospect and develop new accounts within the designated territory in alignment with Ingredion’s focus areas. Manage medium to large accounts and liaise as required with the larger organization. Develop sound business driven strategies to enable growth through existing accounts and new business opportunities

  • Establish and maintain current and potential key accounts as assigned with respect to sales and technical support, ensuring a superior level of customer engagement is maintained at all times.

  • Meet or exceed agreed sales targets for territory in sales value as well as volume and margin. Assume responsibility for top/bottom line growth through price/cost management.

  • Manage five/six export accounts within the Asia market. Work with affiliate teams to identify new opportunities for exports, establish a strong working relationship with the business leaders and sales teams within the region

  • Communicate technically with customers on aspects of food processing applications as they apply to Ingredion products.

  • Seek, maintain and update information regarding customers, competitors and market segments in a timely manner through Salesforce.com.

  • Investigate customer complaints, prepare reports and undertake any agreed action together with the Quality Manager to ensure a satisfactory customer outcome.

  • Apply a sophisticated and value adding approach to the specialty ingredients selling process by utilising: Segmentation, strong understanding of Ingredion product lines, knowledge of the supply chain process and understanding of contribution margin as it relates to customers and products.

  • Position requires travel of at least 30% of time.

A gility and Innovation

  • Identify new business opportunities with existing accounts and with potential new customers and to identify new areas of product range application.

  • Develop selling platforms in line with Ingredion specialties and ANZ business strategy under Sales Manager guidance

  • Manage the digital lead conversion program working collaboratively with the Marketing Manager; vetting new leads, evaluating potential sales volume and revenue before allocating the account to either to an Account Manager or distributor.

  • Proactively seek innovative new ways of improving the way we do business with our key accounts.

  • Work with the Marketing Manager to create a market pull for Wholesome, Texture and Nutrition springboards

R elationships and People

  • Coordinate activities together with the Marketing and Technical service team, in management of projects.

  • Work with supply chain team to align on customer forecasts and with customer service on any order issues.

  • Work to the highest level of safety required by the business

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Science. Qualifications in Food Science would be an advantage.

  • Minimum 5 to 8 years exposure to technical sales or account management in a food ingredient business to business environment.

  • Experience across a broad spectrum of the food industry with knowledge of the food regulatory environment is an advantage.

  • Computer literacy at an intermediate level across general business programs

  • Dairy and culinary certification would be an advantage.

  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Previous knowledge of Salesforce.com is desired however training will be provided

  • Knowledgeable of industry trends

  • Understanding of the target markets
