TITLE: Senior Food Technologist-Dairy Applications

LOCATION: Bridgewater, NJ

REPORTS TO: Senior Associate, Dairy Applications Team Leader, Global Applications

Ingredion is hiring a Senior Food Technologist in our Global Applications team to innovate in the dairy and dairy alternative segment by creating new ingredient solutions that provide improved functional performance, reduced cost-in-use and/or nutritional benefits in dairy food products. The Global Applications Group is focused on delivering the company strategy by developing new ingredients and solutions, supporting customers by providing technical solutions to product issues, leading and supporting internal ingredient development projects and supporting the development of new applications capability in the organization.

As Senior Technologist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and conducting experiments in the pilot plant or laboratory to progress projects.

  • Communicating results and keeping experiment records in required formats.

  • Utilizing data analysis tools to interpret and present scientific work.

  • Presenting scientific work at external conferences.

  • Utilizing analytical methods to measure various attributes of dairyproductsand internal ingredients.

  • Developing internal capabilities, by researching new techniques and technologies, and providing sourcing, training and implementation.

  • Conducing customer presentations to increase business and showcase company capabilities.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • BS in Food Science, Engineering or a related field, plus 2 to 3+ years of progressive experience in Dairy Technology or related field.

  • Experience with hands-on dairy product development with laboratory and/or pilot plant equipment, dairy biochemistry, dairy unit operations highly preferred.

  • Deepunderstanding of food safety Good Manufacturing Practices, specifically related to dairyproductsand processes.

  • Experience with experiment design, statistical data analysis, and interpretation of results desired.

  • Experience in literature search and familiarity with peer-reviewed scientific journals desired.

  • Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills e.g. making presentations and writing technical reports.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (word, excel, power-point, project)

  • 10-20% domestic travel required to attend trade shows, conferences, trainings, and client sites.
